Laboratory and precision environments place unusual demands on lifting equipment. The loads may be small compared with heavy industry, but they are often more sensitive, more expensive, and less tolerant of vibration, contamination, or positioning error. The first consideration is contamination control. In laboratory support spaces, pharmaceutical packaging rooms, electronics labs, and testing environments, equipment materials and surface finish matter.
